Elaine Vassie

Village Spartans RUFC is delighted that Elaine Vassie will be the team's main and full-time coach for the 2009/10 season. Elaine plays womens rugby, coaches the sport and has worked as a personal fitness trainer. She first participated in Spartans weekly training sessions in the 2006/07 season and later became more involved with the team coaching set-up as an assistant to Chris Leck, by providing additional fitness and conditioning training.

In the 2008/09 season she obtained a full-time position with the RFU as Community Rugby Coach for Burnley RUFC and Colne & Nelson RUFC. She already has her Level 2 Coaching Award and will be working towards Level 3 as the head coach of Village Spartans RUFC.

Chris Leck

Chris Leck is a professional player on the Sale Sharks squad and with all his experience, the Spartans have been lucky enough to have Chris as head coach for the past couple of seasons. He will remain in a supportive role to Elaine and help run regular specialist and targeted training sessions focusing on specific aspects of the game such as scrummaging, line-outs, back moves etc.
