What does being a spartan mean to you?

I really enjoy being part of the Spartans because I have met a good group of people who enjoy similar things to what I do and most of all have an interest in playing rugby. There is never a dull moment when the team is together and I have found a great bunch of people to spend time with.

When did you join?

September 2005

How much experience did you have before joining?

I used to play bit of rugby in high school, but it meant very little as the school was predominantly football-focused. I started playing for Oldham Rugby Club in 2000 but left in 2003 as it was conflicting with my career at the time

Bingham Cup New York 2006, Hürth Cologne 7's 2007, Newcastle Hadrian Cup 7's Jan/2008, Bingham Cup Dublin 2008, Newcastle Hadrian Cup 7's Jan/2009, Union Cup London 2009

What has been your best moment since joining the Spartans?

There are so many but I do really love the tours

What has been your worst or most embarrassing moment?

Knocking 24 pints of beer over in Cologne and then nearly being stripped naked by the team and forced to run naked around on the pitch

What would you say to someone who was thinking of joining

Even if you have never played before you should come along and give it a go. Experience shouldn't put you off, afterall, everyone has to start somewhere. As long as you're up for a good laugh and want to get involved in playing some good rugby, then I would say join us!
