Player Bio

What does being a spartan mean to you?

Being involved with the Spartans means a great deal to me. When I moved to Manchester, from Leeds, I didn't have any gay friends to socialize with. From the first training session I attended, I was made to feel welcome and included and now I would consider many of the team as some of my best friends

When did you join?

September 2007

How much experience did you have before joining?

I played at Club & County level when I was younger. From 14 to 17 years old I played for Selby RUFC, progressing to play occassionally for North Yorkshire Under 17's and Under 18's

What tours have you been on?

Newcastle Hadrian Cup Jan/2008, Bingham Cup Dublin 2008, Newcastle Hadrian Cup Jan/2009, Union Cup London 2009 (injured non-player)

What has been your best moment since joining the Spartans?

Winning Player of the Season 2007/08 after only having played for the team for one season

What has been your worst or most embarrassing moment?

Being stripped naked at the Bingham Cup Dublin 2008 on my birthday and dunked in a bath of iced water in front of around 200 people - good fun though!

What would you say to someone who was thinking of joining

To steal a slogan from a well-known sportswear manufacturer, "Just Do It!"
