What does being a spartan mean to you?

It's difficult to avoid using cliches when explaining this but it is like being part of some weird and wonderful family

When did you join?

September 2007

How much experience did you have before joining?

About 3/4 games when I was around 13 years old. I really didn't have a clue about rugby when I joined though

Newcastle Hadrian Cup 7's Jan/2008, Bingham Cup Dublin 2008, Union Cup London 2009

What has been your best moment since joining the Spartans?

Without a shadow of a doubt it was the Bingham Cup Dublin 2008, 6 games over 3 days. You feel battered and bruised but then there's no feeling like it in the world when you're stood shoulder to shoulder with 14 mates facing off the opposition

What has been your worst or most embarrassing moment?

My first try. I was so caught up in the moment that I placed the ball and landed on my face.

What would you say to someone who was thinking of joining

Just do it! Don't be concerned about whether you think you have the experience & skill, or whether you're the right type to play rugby. The Team is incredibly diverse but everyone has a part to play.
