Manchester Village Spartans RUFC has been been based at the Sale Sports Club since 2000 through their affiliation with Old Salians RUFC, which sadly folded in 2006. The Clubhouse is also the home of tennis, cricket & hockey clubs, so on the whole site there are tennis courts, a cricket pitch, hockey fields and rugby pitches.
The rugby pitches, where Home fixtures are played and training sessions take place, are out of direct view from the Clubhouse and are accessed via the passage between houses on the corner of Dane Rd and Clarendon Crescent. Part of one pitch is flood-lit to be able to be used for weekly training sessions in the darker winter months.
The Spartans changing room and one for the Visiting team are located in the basement of the Clubhouse along with showers and a bath.
Please note that the entrance to the changing rooms is round the back of the main building on the Dane Road side.
Post-match and post-training drinking and socialising is done in one of two bars in the main Clubhouse. The Function Room and bar at the side of the building is also used for bigger events in the social calendar such as birthday parties and the Annual Dinner.
